Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka has called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign with jail.
Ranka criticized Kumar for betraying the nation and claimed he is not suitable for his position. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ranka went on to say Gyanesh Kumar should be removed from his role and stated he is prepared to spend his whole life in jail if necessary to remove individuals he views as traitors from public offices.
“Gyanesh Kumar is a traitor; he must resign. I am even willing to spend my entire life in jail to remove such traitors from their positions,” Ranka said.This statement was shared by the news portal Khabargaon in a graphic.
These strong remarks come as protests are taking place in Delhi over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Demonstrators are calling for more accountability from the Election Commission.
Political leaders, student unions, and activists have taken part in the protests, and reports indicate that many people have been arrested during these demonstrations.
