Despite boycott calls and controversy, Pathaan and Dhurandhar earn massive box office collections. Audiences support entertaining films with action, star power, and strong content, showing public love matters more than online debates.
Two big Hindi movies, Pathaan and Dhurandhar, have both become huge box office hits, even though there was a lot of controversy around them. These films prove that when a movie is good and entertaining, people will come to theatres no matter what.
Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was released in 2023. Before its release, some people called for a boycott because of a scene featuring actress Deepika Padukone. Many thought this controversy would harm the film.
But the opposite happened. Pathaan received massive support from audiences in India and abroad. The movie earned around ₹543 crore in India and more than ₹1,050 crore worldwide. Strong action scenes, good music, and Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback attracted huge crowds.
Overseas collections and premium formats like IMAX also helped the film earn big money. Pathaan became one of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema history.
On the other hand, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, was released on December 5. The movie faced criticism due to some comments made by the actor during a festival. Despite this, people focused on the film’s story and action. By the 12th day, Dhurandhar had earned ₹428.50 crore worldwide. The film showed very strong performance in its second week, which is rare for an action movie with an A-rating. Trade experts praised the film for holding steady on weekdays as well.
What helped Dhurandhar succeed was positive word of mouth. People who watched the movie liked it and told others to see it. Many viewers watched the film more than once, especially because of its mass appeal and gripping action scenes.
Both Pathaan and Dhurandhar clearly show one important thing: audiences care more about good content than online noise or controversies. When a film has strong storytelling, star power, and entertainment value, people ignore boycott calls and criticism.
These two films prove that Bollywood is still strong. In the end, it is the public’s love for cinema that decides a movie’s fate, not social media arguments or controversies.
