History Of Mahalaya

Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh formed a power in the form of Maa Durga to defeat the oppressive monster Mahishasura, according to legend. No human or deity would be able to kill Mahishasura since he had received a blessing. Mahishasura used this pride to overthrow all of the gods and take control of Devlok. To flee Mahishasura’s rule, the deities went to Lord Vishnu’s refuge and worshipped Adi Shakti with him.

During this time, a power emerged itself from the bodies of all the gods, taking the shape of Mother Durga. Maa Durga was armed and ready for battle. On the 10th day, he battled and killed Mahishasura in a great battle.

Maa Durga was incarnated after the cry for the annihilation of Mahishasura on the day of Mahalaya, according to Hindu religious belief. The ancestors are considered to be the first to be bid farewell on the morning of Mahalaya Amavasya. Then, in the evening, Goddess Durga arrives from Mount Kailash and gives her blessings on the devotees for the next nine days, ensuring their well-being.
