Today is the second anniversary of Pulwama attack. Today the country remembers the Javan sacrifice of the CRPF. Two years after the Pulwama attack, the country still remembers the day when a suicide bomber crashed into an IED bus carrying security forces. As a result of this attack, 40 CRPF employees were killed. The Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-i-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility for this brutal terrorist attack.
The attack on the CRPF convoy took place on February 14, 2019 in the Pulwama area of Jammu and Kashmir. 22-year-old suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar crashed into a bus filled with explosives. The CRPF convoy consisted of 78 buses carrying about 2,500 soldiers from Jammu to Srinagar.
A few days after the Pulwama attack, India launched an airstrike against the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp in Balakot, Pakistan. Following this terrorist attack, India stripped Pakistan of its most favored nation (MFN) status. The international community has pledged its strong support for India in the aftermath of the terrorist attack.
A memorial with the names of all 40 soldiers killed in this terrorist attack was unveiled on 14 February 2019 at the CRPF training center at Letpora camp in Pulwama. The memorial contains the names and photographs of all 40 soldiers killed in the attack on Pulwama, and the CRPF’s motto is “Seva aur Nishta” (service and loyalty).
