Shreya Lenka, selected an Odisha girl, has been named the newest member of the South Korean girl group Blackswan. Shreya was selected from among thousands of candidates in a global Blackswan audition organised last year. It conducted by Blackswan’s label DR Music.
After Hyemi’s exit from the group, Blackswan announced global auditions starting in May 2021 to find an alternative member. Initially, Shreya Lenka (stylized as Sriya) and Gabriela Dalcin of Brazil made it to the final round, and the group was expected to choose one of the two artists.
DR Music, on the other hand, announced on Thursday that both Lenka and Dalcin would be joining Blackswan. “Sriya and Gabi were selected as members of Blackswan after participating in the global audition programme for the last six months. “After their debut, we’ll be back with the new Blackswan,” the company declared.
Youngheun, Fatou, Judy, and Leia are members of Blackswan, a band formed by DR Music in 2020. As the group’s fifth and sixth members, Lenka and Dalcin will join.
After making it to the final round of auditions, Gabriela Dalcin and Shreya Lenka relocated to South Korea. They apparently received intensive instruction in conventional voice, dance, and rap, as well as musical instruments, over the course of many weeks.
