On Tuesday, one more person was detained in the case, after the arrest of Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra. According to ANI, Ryan Tharp, a man from Neral in Mumbai, has been arrested.

Let me tell you that Raj Kundra arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch late Monday night for creating obscene videos. In this instance, 11 suspects were detained, including Raj Kundra. Raj was brought to JJ Hospital after his arrest for a medical check by the property cell. Raj Kundra was brought to the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office after an inquiry. Raj is scheduled to appear in court today.

Since February, the police have been investigating the matter of producing and uploading indecent videos. This is the same case in which Gehana Vashistha, the actress from Gandi Baat, was arrested and sentenced to five months in jail.

Jewel, on the other hand, is free on bond. According to the ETimes, Raj Kundra’s name came up in this case when the name of a UK-based production firm came up during the property sale inquiry. Umesh Kamat, a corporate executive, was arrested by the police.

Raj Kundra had an ex-employee named Umesh. Umesh is accused of uploading at least eight videos recorded by Gehana Vashistha to various social media platforms. Raj Kundra is suspected of owning a shareholding in this firm, according to the police. Raj Kundra appears to be the principal conspirator in this case, according to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale.

How Much Can Be The Punishment

Making and publishing obscene movies is punishable under the IT Act and the IPC. Section 67-A of the IT Actor, as well as Sections 292, 293, 294, 500, and 506 of the IPC, determine the penalty. Depending on the seriousness of the offence, a sentence of up to 5 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh may be applied.
