Cyclone Yaas Update: The face of the earth is Cyclone Yaas. Storm winds near Dhamra and Balasore. At present, the storm Yash is 35 km from Dhamra and 50 km from Balasore, said National Weather Director Mrutyunjay Mohapatra. The IMD director also said that wind speeds of 130 to 140 kilometers per hour were expected during the storm Yaas landfall.

According to radar data of cyclone Yaas update, the impact will be within a radius of 400 km from the center of the storm Yash. This means that the impact will be significant in Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts. In the next few hours, there is a possibility of reduced winds in Jagatsinghpur, while in Balasore, the winds will continue till evening, said Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, director general of the Indian Meteorological Department(IMD).

There is a possibility of landfall between Basudebpur-Bahanaga. The monsoon is also expected to bring heavy rains to many parts of the state. Wind speeds have also been reported in coastal districts.

The general public needs to be in a safe place when the Yash storm landfall. The wind speed will increase slowly slowly. So with the demolition of trees, the power poles, the mud houses can also be demolished, ”Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said. Caution is required even when touching and crossing the ground.

According to the meteorological department, winds of up to 60 kmph are now expected off the coast of Balasore and Bhadrak. Although it will not be 165 kmph, it is expected to reach 130-150 kmph in a few hours. It simply came to our notice then. The wind was blowing slowly in the center of the area, causing it to slow down in few hours. It is expected to make landfall between 11a.m. and 12 p.m.

There are now high waves in various parts of the state. The Balasore and Bhadrak areas are expected to be flooded by 3 to 4 meters. People are barred from going out as the time is quite dangerous. On the other hand, the state government has made all the preparations to deal with the cyclonic storm Yaas, said SRC Pradeep Jena. In various places, the state government team is engaged in rescue, thithan and road cleaning work and power supply team also work.
