The DC film, officially titled Aquaman 2 and the Lost Kingdom, will be released later this year, though it’s not yet clear where it belongs inside James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios.

The movie, like the first, has been directed by James Wan, and it was co-written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Produced by Wan and Peter Safran, who is presently working as co-president of DC Studios. There is certainly lot of content to keep us engaged while we wait, so here is all you need to know about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

In addition to confirming his return as Orm, Patrick Wilson teased, “I can tell you that even Wan’s concepts for Aquaman 2 are pushing it even further.” Patrick Wilson has been slightly briefed on what’s ahead for the ousted King of Atlantis.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also indicated he will be returning, which follows the setup for Black Manta to serve as the major villain of the movie. He laughed, Black Manta will return, perhaps causing a lot more problems than he did in the previous one.

Willem Dafoe as Nuidius Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus are among the returning characters, along with newcomers Indya Moore as DC villain Karshon and Pilou Asbaek in a not specified role.

The fact that Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Batman in the sequel is probably the most exciting news for DC fans. Additionally, after making a comeback in The Flash, Michael Keaton said plans to return his role as Batman.

Aquaman 2 Release Date:

On December 20, 2023, both in the US and the UK, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theatres.

Its release date was initially scheduled for December 16, 2022, but was later moved to March 17, 2023 to give time for VFX to be completed. In order to extend out the cost of 2023’s promotion, Warner Bros. Discovery then moved it back to its original date.

The movie was shot from June 2021 to January 2022, and some reshoots took place in July 2022. Hopefully, this represents that the last day of December 2023 will be released.

Aquaman 2 Story:

What is the story of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?

Although the story of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is still unknown to us, we do have an official (shorting) trailer:

In order to save Islands and the rest of the world from serious devastation, Aquaman must form an uncomfortable alliance with an unusual power, according to the trailer. It’s unknown who the “unlikely ally” is, but it might be Orm, who Aquaman defeated at the end of the first film and replaced as the rightful king of Atlantis.

Therefore, it is likely that the movie will start during the early stages of the new King Aquaman’s rule, when he is likely to be dealing with his first danger as the ruler of Atlantis. Whatever happens, Momoa claimed that everything was released out back in October 2019.

Other than that, we don’t really know what is coming from the movie, although the author has given us a tip on where to search for some teasers.

Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman appeared in the trailer in all his scaly, orange and green glory. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II played Black Manta, who vowed to completely destroy Aquaman’s store. Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, and Nicole Kidman will all be back for the sequel to DC’s highest-grossing picture to date. Although it’s unclear how much screen time each of those people actually gets.

Here’s the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer following three rounds of reshoots. On September 14, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Aquaman 2 and the Lost Kingdom. You may watch it below if you missed it above.
