Private Aircraft Crash in Maharashtra Kills Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

A private aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crash-landed near Baramati on Tuesday morning. According to early reports, six people were onboard the aircraft, including Mr. Pawar. Sadly, all passengers and crew were declared dead after the accident.

The plane was traveling from Mumbai to Baramati, where Ajit Pawar was scheduled to attend a political rally. Soon after the crash, security agencies, fire engines, and emergency teams rushed to the site to begin rescue and investigation work.

Flight Lost Contact Midway, Says Flight Radar Data

As per Flight Radar information, the aircraft took off from Mumbai at 8:10 am. It reportedly disappeared from radar around 8:45 am, raising concerns before news of the crash emerged.

Those killed in the crash include Ajit Pawar, his personal attendant, a Police Security Officer (PSO), the pilot, and the co-pilot.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the tragic incident. Meanwhile, Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s wife, and Supriya Sule, his sister and senior NCP leader, are heading to Baramati.

Ajit Pawar was one of Maharashtra’s most influential political leaders and a five-time Deputy Chief Minister. Following the legacy of his uncle Sharad Pawar, he rose quickly in state politics. However, his decision to break away from the NCP and join hands with the BJP caused a major split in the party.

Once expressing his dream to become Chief Minister and implement welfare plans for the people, Ajit Pawar’s political journey came to a sudden and tragic end with this fatal plane crash.
